Originally known as the Great Sacrificial Hall, the Hall of Prayer for New Year is used to worship earth and heaven and has undergone many changes in the past. One of the most amazing examples of the Mingtang-style buildings; is the hall of prayer is 38.2 meters high and 24.2 meters in diameter. You can look at the internal bays which represent the four seasons, stars of the week, December, and twelve o clock.

The temple of heaven tickets will give you access to the Emperor Vault which was built by the Ming Dynasty in the year 1530. Originally known as "Tai Shen Temple'', the Emperor Vault was a round building and was used to worship gods on weekdays. The Sai palace was used as a special place when the emperor used to fast, and you can see the layout and environment which is surrounded by the double palace walls and imperial ditches. Before any sacrificial ritual, the emperor had to visit the Sai palace and stay for three days. The emperor would fast in the palace and avoid meat alcohol, and music.

Head over to the Kagura Department with the Temple of Heaven tickets and visit the place where music was practiced during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Initially called the God of Optimism, you can visit many temples here along with many cafes, and tea shops. You can also visit many buildings in the Kagura Department such as Zhaoyi Office, Muyi Office, Linglun Hall, Ningxi Hall, and Xianyou Hall.

Use the Temple of Heaven entry tickets and get a chance to visit the Gate of Prayer for Good Harvest which is the main gate of the prayer altar. Built in the year 1420, it was initially known as Daximen and also Daxiangmen. In the year 1751, the Qing dynasty designated the gate as the Gate of Prayer for New Year. The hall at the New Year's Gate has five syllables and the central door is dedicated to the emperor and God.

Visit the Royal palace with the Temple of Heaven entry tickets and witness the Huanggan hall which is known as the altar of prayer for the god of alignment. Built in the year 1420, the Royal palace is located to the north of the outer walls and you can see the beautiful ancient gate on the west side of the courtyard. The most popular attraction here is the blue glazed tile on the tip of the wall and the stone railing on the foundation.

It is said that after the emperor prayed for the valley, he walked from the Danbi bride to the altar and he felt tired and powerless as he was sixty years old. Another famous attraction you can visit with the Temple of Heaven tickets, the Danbi bridge is 360 meters in length, and is the oldest overpass in Beijing. The bridge deck is 30 meters wide and was exclusively used only by the emperor. The stone slab road is also called the "God road" and the east brick road is called the "royal road" which was again used only by the emperor.
